Canada. Mind blown. I’ve been to the West before, but this was my first time venturing into the gorgeous Quebec. When I was asked to photograph this stunning Montreal wedding, it just so happened that I would be close by anyway. As things often happen, things fell perfectly into place, and with a few kms of driving behind me, there I was in this fabulous city.
Hadley + Phil had fallen in love where they lived in Southern California, but it was Hadley’s home town that won the destination of choice for their wedding. So off I went on Friday to seek out this mysterious island location plonked in the middle of Le Fleuve Saint-Laurent, and found myself walking up a tree smothered hillside to the base of a medieval castle. When such things happen, you have to wonder what on earth you did in a previous life to be so fortunate (insert jaw dropping as I gape to the top of Tour de Lévis). Mind you, climbing the gazillion steps to the top of the tower wasn’t a small feat. Laden with two cameras, and a bag full of lenses, and doing the set half a dozen times in a day made me appreciate the humble two-story home staircase.
So on the day, donned in their stunning wedding attire, Hadley and Phil said I Do at the base of a castle nestled in the woods. They even had the Montreal International Fireworks competition taking place later in the night to make for the most spectacular display of flying, magical, noise making colour I’ve ever witnessed. There’s a lot of things to say about this wedding, but I’ll let the pictures tell a better story than my cluttering words ever will. Enjoy!
